It’s been too long since we’ve posted to our blog — so much is going on between gigs, writing/recording new music, and THIS!… STCU’s annual holiday music campaign!

We were recently featured by STCU in their “A moment of cheer” holiday campaign!
The goal is to give people a break from the normal marketing you hear on TV and the radio, replacing it with local artists featured across the Pacific Northwest!

Check it out!

How It Happened!

In September STCU reached out inviting us to be a featured artist for this year’s holiday campaign — of course we accepted!!

We then selected a Christmas song: “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and went to practicing, arranging, and recording!

Our singer recording vocals in headphones at a studio mic in a cozy wood-paneled room, an acoustic guitar on the wall.

We recorded and produced all of the music ourselves!! Once the audio was done, approved, and ready to go, it was time to schedule the video shoot.

The Video Shoot!

STCU hired the Spokane-based Colormatics to do all the video production!

The four of us playing among purple and white Christmas trees and silver gifts, the Mercado sign at Peanuts Park behind us.

We spent a full day on site at Peanuts Park in Pasco, WA! We worked with the crew, performing to our song over and over!

We’ve been so curious about how video production works so we can start to work on our own videos! Here’s some behind the scene footage:

A camera operator's hands on the rig, its flip-out screen framing one of us during the video shoot.
Our drummer, sticks in hand, filmed up close as the crew rolls a camera dolly on track and holds up a big black panel.
Our bass player filmed from a camera dolly as the crew holds up a black panel and two people check a handheld monitor.
A crew member works the snow machine as we play among purple Christmas trees in front of the Mercado sign at Peanuts Park.

The video is airing RIGHT NOW on TV across the Pacific Northwest, and the audio broadcasting on radio. We’re so thrilled and pumped to have been a part of this!!

Thank you to STCU for featuring us, and to Colormatics for the excellent production work!

But wait… what does the rest of the song sound like??

We’re glad you asked!!
