This website, fatfoxband.com, is run by Fat Fox LLC, the band Fat Fox, in the Tri-Cities, Washington. This page says what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we only keep what you give us to stay in touch, we never sell or share it for advertising, and you can leave our list any time.
Our email list
When you sign up, we email you a link to confirm, and you join the list only once you do. Until then we keep nothing about you: the link itself carries your sign-up, sealed so only our site can read it, and it stops working after a week. Once you're on the list, we keep your email address, your name if you give it, which kinds of email you want (new shows, new blog posts), and when you signed up. We use them only to send you those emails.
Every email has a link to choose which emails you get or to unsubscribe from all of them, and it works straight away. You can also email us and we'll take you off.
Our contact and booking forms
When you send us a message, we get your name, your email address, what it's about and your message, so we can reply. When you ask us to play your event, we also get what you tell us about it: the kind of event, the date, where, about how many guests, how you heard about us, and your phone number if you give it. Either way, it arrives in the band's email inbox and stays there as long as we need it to answer you and plan your event.
Our online shop
When you buy merch, you choose the show where you'll pick up your order, and the site sends what's in your cart to PayPal, which runs our checkout. You pay on PayPal's own checkout page, with your PayPal account or a card: your card details go to PayPal, never to this site, and we never see your full card number. PayPal emails your receipt, and gives us your name and email address with your payment. The site then emails the band your order (your name, email address, what you bought and the show) so we can have it ready at the merch table and reach you about it, and takes what you bought out of our stock in Zettle, the app we sell merch with at shows. On the day of the show, the site emails the band one list of that show's orders, with each buyer's name and pickup code, so we can hand them out. Your order (your name, what you bought, the show, its pickup code and what you paid, never your email address) is also kept in the band's own records in Bananager, our app for bookings and the band's books, the same way we keep our bookings. The website's own copy is deleted 60 days after the show, and an order that isn't paid for is deleted after 3 days.
Until you check out, your cart is kept in your browser, so it's still there when you come back. It holds only what you've put in it, nothing about you.
Keeping the forms free of spam
To stop floods of fake sign-ups, messages and orders, the site counts how many come from the same network in an hour. It keeps only a scrambled code made from the network address (not the address itself) and forgets it after an hour.
Our email sign-up forms also note how long the page was open before the form was sent (only a bot is faster than a person), and they use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots, usually without asking you anything.
The services we use
These companies handle information for us. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Resend stores our email list and delivers our emails, your messages and your orders to us. It records whether each email was delivered, and it can record when an email is opened or a link in it is clicked, so we can see how our emails do.
- Hostinger hosts this website. Like every web host, its servers keep standard logs of visits, such as your network address and the page you asked for, for security and running the site.
- PayPal runs our shop's checkout and the card and PayPal tips on our tip page, and takes the payments. It keeps your payment, sends your receipt, and may set its own cookies on its checkout page.
- Zettle (PayPal's point of sale) keeps our merch and how many we have. An order tells it what was bought, nothing about who bought it.
- Venmo: our tip page's Venmo button takes you to Venmo's own app or site, which handles your tip under its own policy.
- Setlist Den keeps our show calendar. Your browser reads our list of upcoming shows from it.
- YouTube, SoundCloud and Google Maps provide the videos, music players and map on some pages. When those load or play, the company that provides them may set cookies and collect information under its own policy. YouTube videos here use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.
- cdnjs (run by Cloudflare) delivers the viewer that shows our PDFs on phones, when you open one.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that whoever uses our email sign-up forms is a person. It loads when you start filling one in, and looks at things like your browser and network address to do it, without setting cookies for advertising.
Cookies and tracking
The site itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. It keeps two small notes in your browser: one once you've joined our list, so it stops asking you to sign up, and what's in your shop cart, until you check out. They stay on your device (your cart reaches us only when you check out), and clearing your browser's site data removes them. Because we don't track you across websites, we don't change anything when your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.
What we never do
We never sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Your choices
You can ask to see the information we have about you, correct it, or have it deleted, by emailing[email protected]. We'll answer within 30 days.
Children
This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
